Farmington, Maine - The #12 top moment of the University of Maine at Farmington's athletic season is the golf team winning two events and placing third in the NAC championship.
In the second event of the season at Point Sebago, par 72, with a field of eight teams, the Beavers scored a win besting the field by 13 shots led by medalist Eric Aguiar with even par 72. Later in the season at a home event at Waterville Country Club with nine teams; the Beavers won with a scoring total of 300. That score was 11 shots better than the next place team. UMF players scored with Eric Aguiar at 71, Gavin Brickley at 74, Trevor Hisler at 75 and Mike Richards at 80 against even par at 71.
In the NAC Championship at Berkshire Hills GC, MA. the Beavers finished in third place. After the first day the Beavers were tied for fourth place, three shots back from the third place team, MCLA. On the second day play led by Eric Aguiar who shot even par on the back nine for a 78 and Gavin Brickley who shot a turnaround score of 77 from an 88 helped the Beavers finish 13 shots ahead of the first day third and fourth place team for a third-place finish in the NAC.
The Beavers had three players on the North Atlantic Conference Second Team: Eric Aguiar, Mike Richard, and Trevor Hisler.
