University of Maine at Farmington announces that Andrea Stemm and Michael Pingree have been nominated for NAC Man/Woman of the year.
Stemm started 55 career games for the Beavers and was part of the 2016 NAC Championship team where she was named to the All-Tournament Team. In her career, she scored 8 goals and had 17 assists. In her senior season, she was named 1st Team All-Conference for the North Atlantic Conference and was also a team captain. Academically Stemm was an excellent student as she was named All-Academic for the NAC in three separate seasons as a Biology major with a minor in Health and Medicine. She served on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee all four years while also serving on the Step-Up program for three years. She helped coach a field hockey clinic for two years and helped coordinate the UMF Athletics food drive for four years. These great accomplishments have also caused Stemm to be nominated for the NCAA Women of the year.
Pingree started four games in his career winning three of them. He was the 2019 UMF Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the year and made the Dean's List all four years at UMF. Pingree also served on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee while also helping with the One Love Foundation and Beaver Social Food Drive for two years. He also helped with the Step-Up program and helped his team with the UMF Men's Soccer woods clean up project in 2016.
