FARMINGTON, Maine – UMaine-Farmington Baseball received commitments from a pair of Oxford Hills High School standouts for the 2018-19 incoming class. Hunter LaBossiere and Troy Johnson will become members of the Class of 2022 in the fall.
Hunter LaBossiere has been the starting left fielder for the Vikings over the last three years. The right-handed hitter is one the top hitters for them and also in the KVAC. LaBossiere was named to the First Team All-Conference for his efforts. Assistant Coach Oufiero says of LaBossiere, "Hunter is a hard worker, gritty player with a high baseball IQ and is a great leader and teammate." LaBossiere is career .400 hitter.
Troy Johnson is a right-handed pitcher and corner infielder for the Vikings. On the mound, Johnson maintains a perfect record in regular season play and also bats in the middle of the Vikings line-up. Coach Oufiero says of Johnson, "Troy is a quiet leader who leads by example, his passion for the game is unmatched by others." Johnson was also selected to the KVAC All-Conference team as a junior.
LaBossiere and Johnson will continue the successful trend of Oxford Hills baseball players at UMaine-Farmington, joining recent UMF Alumni Jordan Croteau '17, Riley Chickering '18, and Nick Attalieades-Ryan '18 who all had standout careers for the Beavers.
