Beavers Edged by Spartans

Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's early goal wasn't enough to get past Castleton on Sunday as the Beavers fell 4-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Leib Field.

BY THE NUMBERS

The Spartans outshot the Beavers (19-7) while the Beavers had nine saves to the Spartans two. Each team was tied in corner kicks with two each.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Spartans scored their second goal about 17 minutes later as Iradukunda took a shot from about 10 yards out and beat Beavers goalkeeper Matt Wilson. Castleton didn't stop there as Joel Atutor received a pass from Jacob Godfrey and scored from about 18 yards out to give the Spartans a 3-1 lead.

With six minutes to go in the first half, the Spartans scored their fourth goal from Sean Springer.
