Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington men's soccer team beat Unity College by a score of 4-0 on Leib Field in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Beavers move to 7-6 overall and stayed at 2-3 in conference play while the Rams fell to 6-5-1 overall.
BY THE NUMBERS
The Beavers led in shots with 18 while the Rams had seven. UMF had 13 shots in the first half to the Rams three. Unity had five saves to the Beavers four while each team had three corner kicks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nick Marshall got the Beavers started with a goal from about eight yards out after Luke Dwornik crossed one into the middle to find Marshall at the 16:32 minute-mark. Late in the first half, Andrew Longhurst drew a foul in the box which awarded him a PK. Longhurts went to the right side and beat the goalie to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead.
Tristan Price snipped one from about 30 yards out and beat the keeper high to finish off the Rams with a 4-0 victory.
The Beavers will be on the road this Saturday at Johnson St. with a 3:30 p.m. start time.
