FARMINGTON, Maine- Sophomore midfielder Ashley Gleason (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and Junior midfielder Kaiti Kinney (Surry, Maine/Ellsworth) were selected to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference teams on Friday.
Gleason was selected to the All-Conference second team. She started 15 games this year for the Beavers, scoring 11 goals and assisting on three others to lead the team with 25 points. The 11 goals and 25 points both rank second in the NAC. Gleason also lead the team in points last year with 26 points (10 goals, 6 assist).
Coach Molly Wilkie commented on being glad that Ashley was recognized by the other conferences coaches and added "Ashley is a consistent contributor on both sides of the ball for us."
Kinney was selected to the Sportsmanship team. Kinney contributed one goal and two assist in her 15 starts for the Beavers.
Coach Wilkie decribed Kinney as "a consummate teammate that brings her best effort each day no matter what is asked of her."
The NAC Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the soccer culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
UMaine-Farmington will travel to Colby-Sawyer in the first round of the NAC playoffs on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 12:00pm start.
