FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington scored the final 12 points of the game to lift the Beavers to a 57-53 victory over Johnson State College in North Atlantic Conference men's basketball action today at Dearborn Gymnasium.

After a 4-3 lead, the Beavers trailed for a majority of the contest until a 12-0 run over the final 4:58 helped the hosts take the victory away from the Badgers. DJ Gerrish (Rumford, Maine) canned a 3-pointer with 1:43 left in the game to give Farmington a 55-53 lead. Johnson State had a pair of empty trips before Danny Kane (Bradford, Maine) sealed the win with a pair of free throws with 12 seconds remaining for the 57-53 final.

Bousono and Ian Passino (Peru, N.Y.) each hit a three in the stretch. Johnson State pushed the lead to 24-13 before settling into the half with a 26-19 advantage.

Over the first 10 minutes of the second half, the Badgers outscored Farmington 19-13 to expand their lead to 45-23. Five points from Bousono and four each by Boyd and Passino helped the visitors to the 13-point cushion.

Headed by five points from Gerrish, a 10-1 Farmington flurry got the Beavers to 46-42 with 7:43 remaining, but the Badgers staved off the hosts to push the lead back to 53-43 with pair of Rob Key (New Britain, Conn.) free throws with 5:04 remaining.
