FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington was unable to capitalize on a pair of Thomas College turnovers in the final 15 seconds with a game-winning bucket, and dropped a 61-60 North Atlantic Conference contest to the visiting Terriers, in men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Dearborn Gym.

Trailing by four, 61-57, with under a minute remaining, senior Garrett Clemmer pulled UMaine-Farmington (6-8, 4-4 NAC) to within a point of Thomas (5-8, 5-3 NAC) with a 3-point bucket.

The Beavers' Nick Hilton picked off the ensuing inbounds pass by Ian King, but an offensive foul was called on UMaine-Farmington to give the ball back to the Terriers.

Thomas' second entry pass was also intercepted, this time by senior Andrew Dickey. The ball was knocked loose in the scramble that followed in the corner in front of the Farmington bench, and the officials ruled a UMF player stepped on the sideline with the ball. That gave possession back to the Terriers with under a second showing on the game clock, and Thomas was able to pass the ball around off the backcourt while allowing time to expire.

Dickey paced UMaine-Farmington with a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, to go with a game-high nine rebounds. Garrett Clemmer and Connor Hasson each charted 10 points.

Thomas' Garen Manzo and Shaun Munson each finished with 13 points to pace the Terriers' offensively, with Stanley Greene, Jr., dishing out four assists. Adam Carlson chipped in with nine points off the bench, while Mike Akanji had seven points and a team-high six boards.

Thomas overcame its 33.3 percent shooting (19-57) to post the win over a Farmington squad that shot 40.8 percent (20-49). The Terriers were more effective from 3-point range, finishing the game 7-of-20 beyond the arc to the Beavers' 3-of-17 3-point clip. Thomas also forced UMaine-Farmington into committing 26 turnovers – second-most this season by the Beavers – which yielded 31 Thomas points.

UMaine-Farmington returns to the hardwood on Friday, Jan. 24, when it travels to Vermont to face Castleton State College. Thomas will face Colby College in a cross-Waterville game on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
