FARMINGTON, Maine – The duo of Nick Hilton and Uriah Forest-Bulley gave the UMaine-Farmington men's basketball team (1-3, 1-0) a dramatic, 72-55, win over North Atlantic Conference opponent Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday evening at Dearborn Gymnasium.

The opening half was a defensive battle. UMF held the early lead, but MMA hung around and even held its own lead for eight minutes until Hilton hit a deep three to give the Beavers a 15-13 lead with exactly five minutes left in the first period. Hilton's three helped the Beavers finish out the half on a 14-11 run and take a 29-24 advantage into halftime.    

UMF rode the momentum coming out of the locker room and tacked on six straight points to give the Beavers a double-digit lead. After a made jumper by MMA's Jason Hatch, the Beavers reeled off a 17-7 run and giving UMF it's largest lead of the game at 15 points with 8:36 to go, but MMA did not go away quietly. The Mariners forced the Beaver to turn the ball over and made timely free throws to trim the Beavers' lead to ten, but the UMF offense was too much in the end.

UMF outscored MMA 30-10 in the paint and made 15 points off MMA turnover compared to allowing only four points of turnovers.

Hilton scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the line. Forest-Bulley followed with a 6-of-8 showing from the field and hit 9-of-10 free throws. MMA's Jason hatch led the Mariners with 16 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting, including 2-2 from beyond the arc. 

UMaine-Farmington will travel to Johnson State on Friday to continue conference play at 7:30pm.
