Box Score BANGOR, Maine – Nick Hilton (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue) recorded a game-high 14 points on Tuesday night as the University of Maine at Farmington lost, 72-52, to conference-leading Husson University at Newman Gymnasium.
UMF was not intimidated by the Eagles, who were nationally ranked a week ago, and claimed to an early five-point advantage. After Husson tied the score at, 11-11, the Beavers reclaimed another five-point lead. The Eagles evened the score and then built a 10-point edge at the break.
Husson's defense shut the Beavers down in the second half. The Beavers shot 28.1% (9-32) from the field in the second half and 0-for-7 from long range.
Hilton finished with nine rebounds to add to his 14 points. Pet Sumner (Cramerton, N.C./Gaston Day) scored nine points and Uriah Forest-Bulley (Turner Falls, Mass./Turner Falls) followed with eight points.
UMaine-Farmington hosts NAC opponent Thomas on Saturday at 3:00p.m.
