Castleton Sinks Men's Hoops with Long Range Shooting

Box Score

FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington (4-11, 3-6) were outmatched by Castleton's Rob Coloutti and his three-point shooting in Friday night's, 68-51, loss to Castleton at Dearborn Gymnasium.

The Spartans jumped out to an early 10-point lead in the opening seven minutes, but the Beavers clawed their way back into the game with a three-pointer from Logan Nichols and five points from Jimmie Chaisson to make it a four-point game.

UMF trailed at the half, 29-22, thanks in large part to its free throw shooting. The Beavers hit 9-of-12 from the charity stripe despite shooting 20% from the floor.

In the second half, Coloutti took over by draining three-of-five from long range. Castleton shot 63.6% (14-22) from the floor in the second half while holding UMF to only 37.5% (9-24).

Rob Coloutti drained four three-pointers on his way to a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds. Chad Copeland recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jimmie Chaisson led the Beavers with 11 points and six rebounds off the bench.

UMaine-Farmington returns to the hardwood on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. to host Green Mountain.
