Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – Nick Hilton's game-high 22 points led the UMaine-Farmington men's basketball team (3-6, 2-1) to a, 67-60, come-from-behind victory over Colby on Saturday afternoon at Dearborn Gymnasium.
With less than seven minutes left in the game, Colby was clinging to a 56-47 lead. Logan Nichols hit a pair of free throws and reduced the lead to seven points. Hilton made the first of a one-and-one situation and Colby's lead was down to six points.
After a Colby offensive foul, the Beavers cashed in on the other end. Uriah Forest-Bulley made a tough layup over two Colby defenders in the paint, making the lead only four.
Colby's Ryan Jann added two shots from the charity stripe for the Mules and the lead was increased back to six. The Beavers scored six straight points to tie the game with 2:34 left in the contest. Colby's Luke Westman stole the ball at mid-court from UMF and made the fast break layup to retake the lead.
On UMF's next possession, Pet Sumner hit a three-pointer in front of the UMF bench to give the Beavers the lead for good. In the final 1:39, the Beavers made a perfect 6-for-6 from the line to seal the victory.
Four Beaver players scored in double figures. Hilton shot his game-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. Uriah Forest-Bulley, Pet Sumner, and Jimmie Chaisson added 10 points apiece.
UMaine-Farmington returns to the hardwood in primetime on Tuesday as the Beavers travel to Thomas at 7:30p.m.
