Trio of 20-Point Performances Leads Men's Hoops to Upset Over Castleton

CASTLETON, Vt. -- A trio of 20-point performances led the University of Maine at Farmington (8-15-7-9) past Castleton State College with a, 90-84, victory on Saturday afternoon at Glenbrook Gymnasium.

Trailing by 19 points and four minutes left in the opening half, the Beavers closed out the half on a, 15-7 run and the Spartans took a, 60-49, lead into the break. The first 20 minutes saw impressive shooting and on both sides. UMF shot 59.3% (16-27) from the field while Castleton knocked down more field goals (20-41) than the Beavers and 48.8% from the floor.

In the first two and a half minutes, the Beavers opened the final period with 11 of the first 16 points and closed the gap to five points. UMF continued to battle and keep the game close; they finally got over the hump with five straight points by Eric Berry at the halfway mark.

With the game tied at, 80-80, and four minutes left in the game, Nick Hilton scored six of the final seven points for the Beavers to lead them to the upset.  

Uriah-Forest Bulley finished with a career-high 28 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 12-of-16 from the foul line. Nick Hilton followed with 26 points and nine rebounds. Eric Berry rounded out the trio with 20 points and dished seven assists off the bench. Castleton's Chad Copeland was a rebound shy of recording a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

UMaine-Farmington returns home on Wednesday to face Husson at 5:30 p.m. UMF will honor the careers of Uriah Forest-Bulley and Pet Sumner after Wednesday's game for Senior Night.
