Snowboard/Freeski
The first event of the season wrapped up today with a great weekend of racing for the UMF Snowboard Cross and Freeski Cross student athletes on Sugarloaf Mountains famed Boarder Cross Track. The course, featuring steep drops into sharp banked turns over several spines and jumps rode fast and firm throughout the day. UMF  Junior Snowboarder 
Connor Dunn finished time trials with a 48:90 followed by Junior Freeskier 
Vaughn Keenhold with a time of 49.82 and sophomore Snowboarder 
Whitney LeMay crossing the line with a 54.52. 
Whitney LeMays strong riding landed her a third place in Open Class Womens Cross while powerhouse 
Connor Dunn took gold in Men's Jams (18-22) and shifty 
Vaughn Keenhold grabbed a gold medal in Freeski Men's (19-21).
The UMF Snowboard/Freeski rooster has grown for 2017 and features some committed and talented student athletes who are eager to showcase all their hard work. The next events are slated for a Tuesday night Rail Jam at the Bates College Campus in Lewiston followed by a Maine USCSA Qualifier the Park Shark Challenge Slopestyle at 1:00pm at Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford on Saturday, January 21.
Alpine 
Thomas Wing finished off the day at Titcomb with a first place finish and a third place finish. Bryce Neal finished with a second place finish and a third place finish as well.
