FARMINGTON, MAINE - The University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball team put up a season-high 120 points en route to a 120-75 victory over Thomas College on Saturday afternoon on senior day in Dearborn Gymnasium.
The Beavers honored eight seniors prior to tip-off in their final regular season game of the season. Kyle Donlin (Warren, Maine), Jack Kane (Cumberland, Maine), Mark Mayo (Bridgton, Maine), Silas Mohlar (Readfield, Maine), Terion Moss (Portland, Maine), Kyle Pasieniuk (Kennebunk, Maine), Nathan Poulin (Williamstown, Vermont), and Drew Storey (Cumberland, Maine) were all honored for their great contributions to the men's basketball team over the years.
The game was tight for the opening seven-plus minutes. The Beavers led by as much as four points before the Terriers took a five-point lead at 13-8 at the 15:00 minute mark. The Beavers quickly broke the game wide open with a 31-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a 22-points lead. Donlin hit a pair of threes, Pasieniuk drilled a three, and Zachery Mickle (Billerica, Mass.) connected from beyond the arc over the stretch to help pace the Beavers.
The Beavers continued on their hot streak, extending their lead up to 35 with 2:47 left to play in the half. For the half, the Beavers shot 60% (24-40) from the field, drilling 8-17 from beyond the arc to take a 61-32 lead.
The Beavers continued to roll in the 2nd half, extending their lead up to as many as 48 points on a pair of occasions. The Beavers got contributions from everybody up and down the lineup today in their final tuneup before the North Atlantic Conference tournament next weekend.
The Beavers finished with five scorers in double figures on the afternoon. Moss, Donlin, and Kane all finished with 16 points. Moss added five assists and five rebounds. Donlin also dished out six assists while Kane added six rebounds and five blocks. Charlie Rask (Hillsboro, Oregon) scored 13 points on 5-6 shooting from the field in just eight minutes off the bench. Poulin added 11 points for the Beavers. Pasieniuk finished with nine points while Mayo added eight. Storey finished with six and Mohlar had five on senior day for the Beavers.
Parker Desjardins scored a team-high 12 points off the bench to pace the Terriers. Wyatt Thompson added 11 off the bench for the Terriers.
