Offensive Onslaught Powers Beavers to Victory Over Lyndon

ONEONTA, New York – After a day off due to weather on Friday, the Beavers' offense did not miss a beat, pounding out 17 hits en route to a 14-0 mercy-rule shortened victory over VTSU Lyndon on Saturday morning in day two of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tournament.

How it Happened:

The Beavers' offense jumped out quickly in the bottom of the first inning. Abby Wrinn (Wolcott, Conn.) laced a leadoff double and then moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt from Melissa Mayo (Bridgton, Maine). The Beavers then ripped off five straight hits as Maddie Pike (Kennebunk, Maine), Katie Morse (Dixfield, Maine), and Bella Miller (Lewiston, Maine) delivered RBI singles to help Farmington open up a 3-0 lead after one inning.

In the second inning, the Beavers sent 12 batters to the plate, scoring eight runs to extend their lead to 11-0. Mayo opened the inning with an RBI double down the left-field line and later scored on an RBI single by Christa Allen (Harrison, Maine). Morse followed with an RBI single of her own and later scored on an error. Reilly Russell (Windham, Maine) drove in two with a single up the middle and later came around to score on another error.

Farmington's offense kept rolling, scoring once in the third on an RBI single from Olivia Paradis (Saco, Maine), and then adding two more in the bottom of the fourth. Mayo ripped another RBI double down the left-field line, and Pike followed with a single to right to plate Mayo, stretching the lead to 14-0.

Farmington also got strong pitching from the duo of Mack Bergen (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Lisa Truchin (Torrance, Calif.). Bergen pitched the first three innings, allowing just two hits while striking out three. Truchin threw the final two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two to secure the win for the Beavers.

Farmington had six players with multi-hit games, led by Allen, who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Wrinn went 3-for-4 with four runs scored. Mayo, Pike, Morse, and Paradis each contributed two RBIs.

The win marks the Beavers' second in this year's NAC Tournament—the first time they have won two playoff games in a season since 2011.
