Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Beavers Bow out in the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament with Loss to Yeshiva

MONTCLAIR, New Jersey - The University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball team saw their 2025-26 season come to a close on Saturday evening, falling in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, 92-69 at the hands of Yeshiva University.

How it Happened:

Farmington missed their first three shot attempts to open the game, but junior forward Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) helped right the ship, scoring 12 of the Beavers' first 15 points over the first eight minutes of the game. Alternatively, Yeshiva came out of the gates scorching hot, hitting seven of their first ten shots, including two-of-three from beyond the arc as they mounted a 21-15 advantage.

A layup and a pair of free throws from Yoav Oselka pushed the Maccabees' lead up to ten before sophomore guard Zach McLaughlin (Hampden, Maine) started to get going and get the Beavers back into the game. McLaughlin drilled a three to get himself going and then continued by scoring the next ten Farmington points, making it a 30-25 game with 5:48 left to play in the first half. Overall, McLaughlin and Reynolds combined to score the first 25 points for the Beavers to keep the game within striking distance.

After a Dothan Bardichev three made it a 33-25 game, Brayden St. Pierre (Readfield, Maine) drilled a three of his own to start a 9-2 run that pulled the Beavers within a point. McLaughlin scored the other six points during the run, converting an old-fashioned three-point play and then a conventional three that made it 35-34 with 4:13 left in the opening half.

Farmington went scoreless for the remainder of the half, as Yeshiva closed the half on a 12-0 run to take a 47-34 lead into halftime. Bardichev and Max Zakheim hit back-to-back threes to highlight the run for the Maccabees.

Farmington scored the first four points of the second half, getting buckets from Kory Donlin (Warren, Maine) and McLaughlin to pull back within nine. Yeshiva quickly responded with a 16-0 run that put the game out of reach, making it 63-38. A three-point play and a three from Yair Dovrat and then consecutive driving layups from Nate Jacobs highlighted the run.

Junior guard Braden Camire (Saco, Maine) and St. Pierre answered with back-to-back triples to cut the deficit to 19, but it wasn't enough. The Maccabees answered with six straight, four coming from Yoav Oselka, to reclaim a 25-point lead and take the wind out of the sails for Farmington.

The Beavers were able to cut the deficit to 17 on a pair of occasions but were not able to get over the hump.
