FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse team saw its 2026 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon with a 13-5 loss in the regular season finale.
The Records:
Farmington finished the season with a 4-11 overall record and a 2-4 mark in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. The Mariners completed the regular season at 8-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
How it Happened:
The Mariners took control early and never looked back as they completed the season sweep of Farmington. Lillian Diversi scored just 53 seconds into the game on a free-position shot to give the Mariners an early lead.
Bella Scolaro scored back-to-back goals, and Diversi added her second goal of the game in the final 70 seconds of the opening quarter as Maine Maritime built a 4-0 lead after one.
Hadley Stoddard scored the Mariners' fifth goal of the game a minute and a half into the second quarter as they continued to control play.
A goal from Caitlyn Lamb with just over nine minutes remaining in the second quarter made it a 6-0 game, and the score remained there into halftime as the Beavers managed just three shots on goal in the opening 30 minutes.
Farmington got on the scoreboard in the opening minutes of the third quarter on a strong individual effort from junior midfielder Emma Dunn (Farmington, Maine), who maneuvered her way around the Mariner defense before firing a shot past Ella Bowes to make it 6-1.
Maine Maritime quickly responded as Diversi found a wide-open Scolaro in front of the net to restore the six-goal advantage just 37 seconds after Dunn's goal.
Scolaro and Diversi continued to create problems for the Beavers, scoring goals just 45 seconds apart later in the quarter to extend the lead to 9-1 with just over ten minutes remaining in the third.
Senior attacker Ruby McMinis (Wells, Maine) picked up her first goal of the game just inside the final five minutes of the third quarter to make it a 9-2 contest.
Diversi found the back of the net again just 27 seconds into the fourth quarter off an assist from Lauren Robinson.
Dunn responded with her second goal of the game, but she was quickly matched by a goal from Robinson as the Mariners maintained an 11-3 lead with just under ten minutes to play.
First-year midfielder Miah Coffin (Otis, Maine) scored her sixth goal of the season to make it 11-4, but the Mariners continued to add on. Lamb scored her second goal of the game, and Hayden Meffert added another to make it 13-4 with 4:39 left.
McMinis scored her second goal of the game—and her 38th of the season—in the closing seconds. The goal tied her for the program record for most goals in a single season.
