FARMINGTON, Maine - For the third time in as many weeks, University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country duo Lina Martinez Nocito (Mt. Vernon, Maine) and Amelia Hill (Jaffrey, N.H.) have been tabbed North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Athletes of the Week, with Martinez Nocito earning Runner of the Week and Hill garnering Rookie of the Week.

Martinez Nocito continued her torrid start to the 2026 season, once again leading the way for the Beavers. In Saturday's Maine State Championship hosted by Bowdoin College, Martinez Nocito posted a time of 23:00.4 in the 6K event while averaging 6:10.2 per mile en route to a 44th-place finish out of 151 racers.

Hill also continued her strong start to the season at the Maine State Championship on Saturday. The first-year placed 78th overall after running the 6K in 24:39.4 and averaging 6:36.8 per mile for the event.

The duo helped push the Beavers to an eighth-place finish overall and the highest placement of any NAC team competing in the event.

The Beavers will return to action next Saturday, October 3, at the Keene State Invitational.
