Overview:
Kaya Backman was named as the head coach of the Beavers' women's lacrosse program in July of 2023. Since taking over at the helm, Backman has led Farmington to a 8-19 overall record with a 4-9 record in NAC play.
Recently:
2025: In her second season as the head coach for the Beavers, Backman led the Beavers to a 3-10 record overall, including a 2-4 record in NAC play, finishing 3rd overall in the conference and narrowly missing a playoff birth. Following the end of the season, junior attacker Ruby McMinis, senior midfielder Abby Trefsger, and senior defender Ashlee Farrar were named to the All-Conference first team.
Prior Seasons:
2024: In her first season at the helm for Farmington, Backman led helped the Beavers to a 5-9 record, their best since the 2019 season. The Beavers finished the season with a 2-5 record in NAC play, finishing the season 6th overall in the conference. After the season concluded, junior midfielder Abby Trefsger, and sophomore defenders Allie Bliss and Skye Cotnoir were named to the Second Team All-Conference.
