Marcus Christopher is entering his first season as an assistant coach at the collegiate level in 2024-2025.
Christopher began coaching in 2022, when he started training youth basketball players and coaching middle school basketball in his hometown of Skowhegan, Maine. Since then, he has been the Director of Basketball at Camp Manitou in Oakland, ME, and has continued to expand his private basketball training.
As a player, Christopher played two seasons at the University of Southern Maine where he started in all 30 games he appeared in. He averaged 9.3 points and 7.0 rebounds a game while shooting 55.1% from the field. Christopher graduated from USM in December of 2022.
Before that, Christopher was a four-year starter at Skowhegan HS, helping to lead the team to four consecutive playoff appearances, five playoff wins, and a regional final appearance during his senior season. During his four seasons, he earned all-conference, all-state, conference player of the year, McDonald’s All-Star, and McDonald’s All-Academic honors. Christopher also graduated from Skowhegan as the Class of 2019 salutatorian and with numerous all-conference, all-state, and player of the year honors across his baseball and football careers.Â
After graduating from USM, Christopher worked in Boston before returning home in April of 2024 to work at Kyes Insurance and joining the UMF staff.
