Men's soccer deadlocked with Lyndon

Box Score

FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington and Lyndon State College played to a 1-1 tie in North Atlantic Conference men's soccer action today at Prescott Field.

The Beavers (6-4-4, 3-1-1) are slated to visit Thomas College Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Hornets (8-3-3, 3-2-1) are scheduled to host Johnson State College Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.) gave the Hornets a 1-0 advantage in the opening half. After his upfield push led to a Farmington foul just outside the box, Coyle deposited a direct kick in the top right corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead at 23:05.

Jake Constantine (Woodland, N.J.) evened the score at 67:40 for the Beavers. His unassisted marker -- and second goal in two games -- at 67:40 tied the match at 1-1. Farmington outshot the Hornets 15-3, forcing Lyndon keeper Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) to make three saves and endure two corners in the final five minutes of regulation, but Lyndon's Patrice Lulumba (Burlington, Vt.) had nearly the best regulation chance to break the tie when his bid clanged the crossbar.

Farmington's Dillon Clark (Old Town, Maine) had a doorstop chance on a Jordan Hale (Falmouth, Maine) cross to open the first overtime, but Clark's header was handled by Gray. Constantine and Hale each had near-misses and Lyndon took a pair of corner kicks in the second extra session, but no one break the 1-1 stalemate.

Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) made four saves for the Beavers, who finished with a 30-13 command in shots.

Gray made 18 saves for the Hornets.
