Box Score WATERVILLE -- The third-seeded University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team fell to No. 2 Thomas College 3-1 in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals today at Alumni Field
The Beavers finished their campaign at 8-6-4. The Terriers (10-5-2) advance to face the winner of No. 1 Castleton State College/No. 4 Lyndon State College in the finals on Nov. 6. The game will be held at the highest remaining seed.
Casey Castle netted a pair of goals to lead the Terriers with Matt Ford adding a goal and Danny Plumbe assisting on a pair.
Castle give Thomas a 1-0 lead 26:05 into the game off a Plumbe assisted, but Farmington's Jake Constantine (Woodland, N.J.) answered with an unassisted marker at 29:55 to even the game at 1-1. Less than a minute later, Ford scored off a Keenen Hoedemaker assist to put the Terriers back ahead at 2-1 at intermission.
Castle and Plumbe connected again at 72:51 to give Thomas the 3-1 final.
Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) made nine saves for Farmington. The Beavers were outshot 17-11 in the match and took one less corner kick (8-7) than the Terriers.
Mikkhail Crockwell stopped six shots in the victory.
