Men's soccer blows by Unity

FARMINGTON -- Jordan Hale (Falmouth, Maine) notched a hat trick as the University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Unity College in non-conference play today at Prescott Field.

The Beavers (1-2-1), who collected their first win of the season, are scheduled to host St. Joseph's College Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Rams (0-4) are scheduled to host Maine Maritime Academy Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Dillon Clark (Old Town, Maine), Zach Good (Westbrook, Maine), Patrick Martin (West Berlin, Vt.) and Sean Raph (Waterville, Maine) each tallied a goal and assisted on a score for Farmington as the Beavers posted their highest goal total since a 9-1 win at Becker College on Sept. 21, 2003.

Hale amassed his hat trick in the first 28:11 of the contest as the Beavers built a 4-0 advantage by intermission. The Beavers fired 52 shots to the Rams' one.

Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) and Derek Reilly (Hollis-Brookline, N.H.) shared netminding duties for Farmington with neither making a save. Peters faced one shot.

Unity goalkeeper Scott Rollins came away with 16 saves.
