Box Score BIDDEFORD, Maine – Three different University of New England players scored to lead UNE men's soccer to a 3-0 shutout win over the University of Maine at Farmington, Wednesday afternoon at Hazard Field.
Univ. of New England (3-2-0) scored what would ultimately be the game winner with 4:41 showing on the first half game clock, when Kyle McGlone put back the rebound off an earlier attempt by Riley Goodrich.
The Nor'Easters lead held at 1-0 at the half, before UNE added to its advantage with 23:51 remaining in the game. Matthew Christie put a ball into the upper right corner of the goal from 12 yards out, with Finn Ducker getting an assist on the score.
Jeremy Hill added a late goal for UNE with 14:34 remaining, padding the Nor'Easters' lead.
UNE outshot UMaine-Farmington (1-2-0) by a 19-7 advantage, and had five corner kicks to the Beavers' two.
UMF keeper Chris Roberts (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) logged four saves, but allowed all three New England goals. UNE's Aidan McParland charted three saves over his 90 minutes in the Nor'Easters' goal.
UMaine-Farmington remains on the road for two games this weekend, starting with a contest at Bowdoin College on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 12:00 p.m.
