Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – The UMaine-Farmington men's soccer team (1-10-1) suffered a, 2-1, overtime loss Saturday afternoon to the University of Maine at Presque Isle at Prescott Field.
The Beavers had a chance four minutes into the second when UMF was presented with a penalty kick after Ryan Fairbanks was taken down inside the box. UMF relied on its hottest offensive player of late, Jordan Luks, who has scored a point in three of the past five games. Luks' shot hit the crossbar and sailed high.
Uriah Forest-Bulley would get the Beavers on the board in 77th minute when his header found the back of the net. Fairbanks' took a throw-in from nearly the corner and his throw allowed the 6'5" junior to jump up over the Owl defense and head a shot into the left side of the goal past UMPI keeper Caleb Bragg-Grady.
UMPI tied the game in the 77th minute when Solomon Fast scored in front of the goal through a cluster of Beaver defenders. Erik Gumaer sent a cross from the right side to Fast, who was sitting in a sea of maroon of white, and he booted the shot into the bottom right side of the goal.
The Owls ended the overtime period before it even seemed to begin. UMPI scored 1:17 into the extra session when Derek Healy found himself one-on-one with UMF keeper Matt Wilson. Healy lined a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal to give UMPI the walk-off win.
Matt Wilson recorded four saves in his second career start for UMF. Bragg-Grady saved seven shots for the Owls.
UMaine-Farmington will travel to the green mountain state when the Beavers play Lyndon State on Wednesday.
