Two Goals by Luks Not Enough; Mariners Top Beavers 4-3

CASTINE, Maine – Jordan Luks scored two goals but Maine Maritime scored two goals in the final seven minutes to beat the UMaine-Farmington men's soccer team (1-9-1) Tuesday night, 4-3. 

Maine Maritime got on the board first in the 11th minute when Gabriel Warren netted a goal off the assist from Jonathan Reeks.  

Warren gave the Mariners a 2-0 advantage when scored his second goal of the game and fifth goal of the season.

The Beavers battled back when Jordan Luks scored in the 25th minute to make the score, 2-1. Uriah Forest-Bulley evened the score in the 38th minute and giving UMF the momentum at halftime. 

The scoreboard did not see any change in the second half until 83:05. Tom Samson gave the Mariners the late lead when his shot found the back of the net past UMF keeper Matt Wilson.

Reeks scored a goal of his own and 10th of the season five minutes later to give the Mariners an insurance goal and 4-2 lead. With the goal, Reeks is tied for the conference lead in goals scored. 

Luks scored his second goal of the game with less than a minute left after getting an assist from goalie Wilson. The goal gives Luks four goals in the last five games and eight points in the last three games.

Wilson started his first career game tonight and recorded five saves to go along with his assist. 

UMaine-Farmington will host UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday at 2:00pm in the last non-conference game of the season.
