Box Score LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – Lyndon State men's basketball ran its North Atlantic Conference winning streak to five games Friday with a 74-59 triumph over the University of Maine at Farmington, Friday night at Stannard Gymnasium.
With the win, Lyndon improves to 9-11 overall and 9-4 in the NAC. It also marks the first time the Hornets have swept the Beavers in a season series. The loss drops UMaine-Farmington to 8-12 overall and 6-7 in league play.
JoJo Woodruff had 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Lyndon while David Johnson chipped in 20 points, seven assists and three steals. Iser Barnes had 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals off the bench and George Carle had six rebounds, three assists and three steals for the winners.
Ben Johnson had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Beavers and Andrew Dickey added 17 points and five rebounds. Nate Carson had a team-high four assists in the loss.
UMaine-Farmington narrowly outshot Lyndon State and enjoyed a commanding 47 to 34 rebounding advantage, including a 16-12 edge on the offensive glass. However the Beavers committed 26 turnovers leading to 31 Hornet points.
UMaine-Farmington concludes its two-game Vermont road trip on Saturday, Feb. 8, when it faces Johnson State College in a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
