Box Score BANGOR, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington (5-8-2, 3-4-1) men's soccer freshman Luke Dwornik chipped in the game-winning goal in the final seconds to lift the Beavers to a 1-0 shutout victory over Husson University (7-5-1, 4-3) on Tuesday evening under the primetime lights of Boucher Field.
With less than a minute remaining, UMF keeper Matt Wilson (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) lined a free kick to set up the offense. The kick was defended by Husson, but Tayoung Nuyepga (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) was able to control the ball after Husson knocked it away.
Nuyepga volleyed a pass into the box where Luke Dwornik (Newark, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) slid and chipped a shot over Husson keeper Steven Paquette.
The victory snapped a four-game skid against Husson dating back to 2010.
Wilson came up big for the Beavers in net with a dozen saves.
UMaine-Farmington will wrap up the regular season on Saturday against Lyndon State at 2:30 p.m.
