Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. - University of Maine at Farmington (6-9-3) men's soccer sophomore Yusuf Yama (Goma, Congo/Portland) scored midway through the second overtime period in Sunday's 2-1 North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal win over Colby-Sawyer (11-7).
Yama tallied his third game-winning goal of the season when he scored off the right post less than five minutes into double overtime after a failed clear attempt by the Chargers' backline.
The contest was scoreless until ten minutes into the second half when Uriah Forest-Bulley (Turner Falls, Mass./Turner Falls) leaped up and knocked in a header. Zach Sathasivam (Valley Stream, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) set up the scoring play on a corner kick. On the boot, Ryan Fairbanks headed a pass to Forest-Bulley, who notched the game's first score.
Colby-Sawyer answered back in the 69th minute when Eddie Garcia volleyed a pass off his chest and lined a shot into the left side of the net.
Yama ended the game in the 104th minute to advance the Beavers into the NAC semifinals.
Matt Wilson (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) recorded ten saves for the Beavers.
UMaine-Farmington travels to Castleton University on Wednesday for the NAC semifinal.
