Smith has a Career Day on the Glass Against St. Joe's

FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball (1-3) senior Meghan Smith (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay Region) set a new career-high with 22 rebounds in a 62-54 non-conference loss to Saint Joseph's College (4-1) on Monday night at Dearborn Gymnasium.

Smith recorded her ninth career double-double as the senior scored 16 points to compliment her 22 rebounds with 10 of the boards coming on the offensive glass. Kennadi Grover (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) nearly matched Smith's team-high with 15 points of her own.

Morgan Cahill tallied a game-high 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting and nailed six free throws. Cahill led the Monks with eight rebounds and five blocks. Emily Quiron added 14 points and Kelsi McNamara contributed 10 points to the St Joseph's offense.

The game was very competitive all the way to the final buzzer with three ties and five lead changes through the contest. UMF won the battle in the paint by outscoring St. Joe's, 30-24, but St. Joe's won the points off turnovers battle, 15-9.

UMaine-Farmington starts conference play on Monday, December 1 with a trip to Husson.
