Women's Hoops Caps Off Second Half Comeback Over Johnson with Triple Threat Scoring

FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington (10-11, 9-5) completed the second half comeback in Saturday afternoon's, 56-47, conference win over Johnson State College (6-13, 6-8) after three Beavers scored in double figures.

After Johnson held a, 23-21, lead at the break, the Badgers produced its largest advantage of the game with a seven-point lead at the 15:25 mark. The Beavers struggled to hit the bottom of the bucket but UMF overtook the lead thanks to free throws.  UMF hit 18 free throws in the final frame.

At the 1:18 mark and UMF ahead by four, the Beavers sank five of their final six free throws to hold on for the victory.

Meghan Smith led the way for UMF with 12 points and four rebounds. Kelly Pomerleau scored 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Lindsay Ranquist added 10 points and four rebounds. Elizabeth Ferry was tenacious on the glass with 12 rebounds. Johnson's Brittany Robertson notched a game-high 15 points after hitting three, three-pointers.

UMaine-Farmington travels to the Green Mountain State on Friday to play Green Mountain at 7:30 p.m.
