Men's Soccer Handed Tough 2-0 Loss to UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine- UMaine-Farmington men's soccer (2-8-0) dropped a tough 2-0 non-conference match-up against the University of New England (2-6-4) on Tuesday at Barbara Hazard Field.

UNE broke the scoreless deadlock in the 23rd minute of the first half.   Ryan Stephens gave UNE the margin for victory, receiving a feed from the center of the field from Jose Escamilla and taking a few touches before directing a low shot from 16 yards away just inside the left post.

Nick Paine doubled the Nor'easters' margin on a beautiful goal in the 59th minute, heading home a corner kick service by Lee Esposito. Esposito struck the ball from the right flag and connected with Paine.

Nate Delsedernier made five save for UNE to earn the victory, his first collegiate win.  Ronie Morales (Houston,Texas/George W. Hewlett) made five saves for the Beavers.

UMaine-Farmington returns to North Atlantic Conference action when they travel to Castleton on Saturday.
