Men's Soccer Stung By Lyndon State in Conference Opener

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team (2-3-0, 0-1-0) surrendered three first half goals and could not rebound in Saturday's 4-2 loss at Lyndon State College (3-1-0, 1-0-0) in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener.

The Hornets jumped out to an early lead in the first six minutes of the contest, as Devin Cowan scored twice with an assist coming from Hunter Torrey on the second goal.  Abukar Hasson added another goal for the Hornets in the 13th minute.

The Beavers would get on the scoreboard on an unassisted goal by Nick Marshall (Portsmouth, R.I./Portsmouth) before the break as the freshman tallied his first career goal. 

Lyndon State charted its final goal of the afternoon with an unassisted goal by Hunter Torrey in the 51st minute.

UMF finished out its scoring attack when Kyle Dugas (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) found the back of the net for his first career goal late in the second half.

Ronie Morales (Houston, Texas/George W. Hewlett) saved three shots in the conference match-up for the Beavers.

UMaine-Farmington returns to non-conference action on Wednesday when the Beavers host Saint Joseph's College.
