Husson Holds Off Men's Soccer with Late Goal

Box Score

FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer (2-5, 0-2) could not bounce back after surrendering a late second half goal to Husson University (2-3-2, 1-0-1) in a 1-0 North Atlantic Conference loss on Saturday afternoon at Leib Field.

In the 75th minute, the Eagles tallied the only score of the day. Rod Ghanayem dished a grounder pass in the box to Cooper Antone, who fired a shot over diving UMF keeper Ronie Morales (Houston, Texas/George W. Hewlett) for the score.

Nick Marshall had a chance to get UMF on the scoreboard in the second half, but his line drive shot sailed slightly high over the crossbar.

Morales saved 11 shots for the Beavers in goal.

UMaine-Farmington hosts Southern Maine on Wednesday in the non-conference home finale.
