Beavers Spoil Senior Day at Johnson St.

Johnson, Vt. – UMaine-Farmington's men's soccer team spoiled Johnson St. senior day with a 2-1 overtime victory at Minaert Field in North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

RECORDS

The Beavers are now 8-6-0 on the year with a 3-3 conference record while the Badgers fall to 6-9-0 and 1-6-0 in the NAC.

BY THE NUMBERS

Farmington outshot the Badgers 27-10 with eight in the first half, 17 in the second half and two in overtime play for the Beavers. Gerrit Lane (4-7) made 12 saves while Matt Wilson (6-5) made one save.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Andrew Longhurst started the scoring in the second half at the 54th minute when he scored from about 10 yards out. Elliot Hanna tied the game back up midway through the second half at the 80th minute.

Christian Wallenmaier broke the 1-1 game in the 98th minute with a shot from the right side to give the Beavers the 2-1 win.

UP NEXT

The Beavers will return home on Tuesday to face Maine Maritime at 3:00 p.m.
