UMF Wins Home Opener

Farmington, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington's men's soccer team beat Rivier University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 1-0 at Lieb Field.

This victory is the first win for new head coach Nathan Kronewetter who was very excited after the team took the 1-0 lead late in the second half.

IN THE BOX

  • UMF had 19 shots with seven shots on goal.
  • Rivier had four shots with three shots on goal.
  • Matt Wilson made three saves while Collin Deyarmin made six saves.
  • Corner kicks were 2-1 in favor of UMF.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Luke Dwornik scored for the Beavers off an assist from Nick Marshall. The Beavers scored at the 74:34 minutes' mark.

Farmington outshot Rivier 19-4 while Rivier had six saves to Farmington's three.

The Beavers will be back in action on Tuesday as Bates for a 4:00pm start time.
