Farmington, Maine - UMaine-Farmington Beavers started the new year battling the Lasell Lasers on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers defense and shooting were too much in the end, finishing with a 72-55 win over the Beavers.

In the Box

·      Alex Bessey recorded a team-high 11 points for the Beavers, shooting 4-11 form the field and 3-8 from three-point range.

·      McKenna Brodeur filled the box score, tallying nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Page Brown and Tia Day also chipped in with nine points for the Beavers.

·      Amanda Ortiz led the way for the Lasers, putting in a game-high 21 points and a game-high eight steals. Ortiz also recorded six rebounds.  

·      Precious Montgomery contributed with 17 points for the Lasers, as well as nine rebounds. She went 6-18 from the field and 2-6 from three-point range.
