NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine -- Charlotte Wentworth posted a time of 21:40.5 to lead the University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish out of nine teams at the 2021 Maine State Championship Meet on Saturday at Pineland Farms.
UMaine-Farmington finished the meet with 199 points, 10 points behind sixth-place Saint Joseph's College.
Wentworth crossed the finish line 51st overall in the 5000m event, and 31st in points. Anna MacDonald was the next Beaver running to finish in 67th place, 34th in points, with a time of 22:23.1.
Grace Broughton (84th, 23:26.2) and Emily Eaton (85th, 23:30.1) were the next two UMaine-Farmington runners across the line, followed by Angie Tehuitzil (90th, 23:50.7).
Bates College won the meet with 27 points, followed by Colby College with 46 points. The Bobcats' Jillian Richardson won the meet with a time of 18:39.0.
The UMaine-Farmington cross country teams will return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 23, when they compete at the Bowdoin College Invitational in their final tune-up before the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30.
