BOSTON, Mass – First year Anna MacDonald was the top University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country runner across the finish line in Saturday's NCAA Division III East Region Cross Country Championship, held at Franklin Park.
MacDonald posted a time of 27:36 in the 6000m event, finishing 126th overall and 116th in points out of 221 runners in the field. First year Charlotte Wentworth completed the course just two spots behind MacDonald, posting a time of 27:49 and finishing 128th.
Junior Emily Eaton was the third UMF runner across the finish line in 28:05, good enough for 137th place, while senior Abbie Hunt (28:52, 159th) and first year Grace Broughton (29:26, 169th) were the fourth and fifth UMaine-Farmington runners across the line.
First year Fiona Ladner-Hudson (29:26, 170th) and Kaylee-Mae Durgin (29:53, 177th) completed the list of UMaine-Farmington entries in the race.
Overall, UMaine-Farmington finished 26th out of 29 teams in the event with 657 points. Tufts won the East Region women's cross country championship with 59 points, with three runners among the top 10 finishers.
