Box Score JOHNSON, Vermont – The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team notched a pair of goals in the second half to complete a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson, in a non-conference tilt on Sunday at Minaert Field.
UMaine-Farmington improved to 2-1-0 overall with the victory, marking the first time the Beavers have wins in two of their first three games since 2017.
After spotting the Badgers a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute on a goal by NVU-Johnson's Wesley Swanson, UMaine-Farmington knotted the contest in the 56th minute with a penalty kick goal by Jimmy Pelletier.
The Beavers took the lead on Yusuf Mohamed's goal in the 77thx minute, with Eric McCallum getting credit for the assist.
UMaine-Farmington outshot NVU-Johnson, 30-5, and charted 14 corner kicks to the Badgers' one.
Bradley Neal got the start in goal for the Beavers and logged a pair of saves, while Badger keeper Patrick Austin finished the day with 10 saves.
UMaine-Farmington's run of four straight road games continues on Wednesday, Sept. 15, when the Beavers face the University of New England. Game time in Biddeford, Maine, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
