BANGOR, Maine – First year Charlotte Wentworth finished 10th among all individuals to lead the University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team to a third-place finish at Saturday's Husson Harrier Invitational held at Saxl Park.
Wentworth crossed the finish line in 23:05.6.
Anna MacDonald was 12th among all finishers with a time of 23:15.4, and Grace Broughton was also among the top 15 with a 14th-place finish after crossing the finish line in 23:33.1.
Fiona Ladner-Hudson (16th, 23:56.0) and Emily Eaton (17th, 23:58.8) rounded out the scoring runners for the Beavers. Angie Tehuitzil (19th, 24:19.1) and Cassidy Hanscom (24th, 25:58.4) were pushers in the field for UMaine-Farmington.
UMaine-Farmington finished the meet with 66 points, trailing second-place Husson University by 19 points. Colby College won the event with 38 points, with four runners among the top 10 finishers.
Husson's Ava Dowling won the 5000m event with a time of 20:49.4.
The UMaine-Farmington cross country will compete at the Maine State championship on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine.
