HENNIKER, N.H. - The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team fell to the New England College Pilgrims on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play, 6-0.
The Pilgrims were able to grab a lead 10:02 into the game when senior Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) scored the first of her three goals. Chin's goal was assisted by freshman Martina Hill (Abbot, Maine).Â
The Pilgrims doubled their lead a minute and half later when Annalisa Crooks (Nantucket, Mass.) was able to put home her own rebound and give the Pilgrims the two goal advantage.Â
Kacie Weston (Henniker, N.H.) and Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) each tallied goals in the second quarter to give the Pilgrims a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.Â
Chin tallied a pair of goals in the second half to finish off the scoring on Saturday afternoon.
Alicia Bridges (Livermore Falls, Maine) had a solid performance in goal for the Beavers as she registered 14 saves in the defeat. Jackie Moutford (New London, N.H.) and Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H) combined for the shutout for the Pilgrims.
The Pilgrims held a 35-1 advantage in shots, 20-0 in shots on goal, and 10-0 in penalty corners.Â
