STANDISH, Maine - The UMaine-Farmington women's cross country team took home the first place trophy today at the Runnin' Monk Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College. The two other teams that competed in the race were Emerson College and Thomas College. There were also individual runners from Presque Isle, Central Maine Community College, Saint Joseph's College (Maine), Saint Joseph's (Connecticut), and York Community College.
The Beavers were led by the trio of Charlotte Wentworth (Sidney, Maine), Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine), and Eve Poteet (Fairhill, Maryland) who all finished in the top 6. Wentworth was the first Beaver to finish, taking home second place with a time of 26:07.5. MacDonald finished in third place on the day with a time of 26:08.2. Poteet finished the 6k in 28:51.3 to take home sixth place honors. Kaylee Mae-Durgin (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) and Emily Eaton (Hampton, N.H) came in 11th and 12th place respectively with times of 30:39.9 and 31:42.6.
Emerson's Samantha Zannotti took home the individual winner honors with a time of 25:57.1.
