BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team fell on the road at Husson University 8-0 in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) semifinal on Saturday evening. The loss signals the end of the Season for the Beavers while the Eagles will take on New England College in the NECC Championship game on Sunday.
The Eagles got goals from five different scorers on the day. Adelle Foss (Farmington, Maine) started the scoring for the Eagles early in the game as she tallied the first goal came early in the first quarter as she did so in just the fourth minute.
The Eagles got a great performance out of Teagan Blackie (Old Town, Maine) who tallied a hat-trick on the day. Lauryn Brown (Orono, Maine), Allison Drew (Ossipee, N.H.), and Rylee Poulin (Oakland, Maine) all tallied goals for Husson. Maddie Perkins (Winthrop, Maine), Foss, Katie Perkins (Winthrop, Maine), and Amanda Frost (Rockland, Maine) picked up assists.
For the Beavers, Alicia Bridges (Livermore Falls, Maine) started in goal for the Beavers and picked up ten saves. Katelyn Rouleau (Freeport, Maine) took over in goal in the second half and tallied nine saves for the Beavers. Emma Willey (Lisbon Falls, Maine) registered a defensive save, her sixth of the season.
The Eagles outshot the Beavers 49-0, including 28-0 in shots on goal. The Eagles also held a 22-1 advantage in penalty corners.
