WEST FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's Alpine team took first-place honors in both slalom and panel slalom events during Sunday's Farmington Carnival at Titcomb Mountain.
The UMF men posted a team time of 3:39.50 on the slalom race, well ahead of second-place Bowdoin College with a combined team time of 3:52.74. Saint Joseph's College trailed Bowdoin by .01 seconds with a team time of 3:52.75.
Simon Spear finished first individually with a combined time of 1:11.64, including a 35.25 in his first run. Jacob Roy was third overall, second among UMaine-Farmington finishers, with a combined time of 1:13.64, and Zach Berliner was fourth overall, third among UMF finishers, with a 1:14.22.

In the day's second race, a panel slalom event, UMaine-Farmington also finished first with a combined team time of 3:14.88.
Spear took individual first-place honors with a combined time of 1:03.66, while Berliner was third overall and second for the Beavers with a combined time of 1:05.12. Roy finished eighth overall with a combined time of 1:06.10, and was the third-fastest UMF skier down the hill.
