Men's Alpine takes sixth in slalom at USCSA Eastern Regional Championship

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's Alpine team finished sixth out of 19 teams at Saturday's U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships slalom event, held at Sugarloaf resort.

The Beavers recorded a team time of 4:24.28. Castleton University won the slalom event with a time of 3:52.51, while Babson College was second with a time of 4:02.37.

Simon Spear was the top UMaine-Farmington individual finisher in Saturday's slalom in 15th place with an overall time of 1:21.91, including a time of 39.70 in his second run.

Zach Berliner was 20th overall with a time of 1:23.80, while Michael Frampton placed 32nd with a combined time of 1:38.57.

The Eastern Regional Championships conclude on Sunday, Feb. 20, at Sugarloaf with the giant slalom event.
