Berliner places seventh in USCSA Eastern Regional giant slalom event

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington senior Zach Berliner was seventh among individual racers in Sunday's GS event at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships, which concluded Sunday at Sugarloaf resort.

Berliner posted a combined time of 1:43.11, with runs of 50.57 and 52.54 seconds respectively.

Jacob Roy was second among UMaine-Farmington finishers and 26th overall with his combined time of 1:49.85. UMF's three other entries into the GS event failed to complete their first run.

In the team competition, the UMaine-Farmington men placed 12th out of 19 teams in the GS competition with a combined team time of 6:30.16. Clarkson University (5:07.81) finished in first place, followed by Babson College (5:07.96) and Castleton University (5:13.09).

Babson's Ryan Beardsley was the top individual finisher with a combined time of 1:39.15.
