AUGUSTA, Maine- The Beavers edged out the Thomas College Terriers on Saturday as they took first place at the UMaine-Augusta cross country meet. The Beavers registered 26 points to take home the victory, while Thomas finished with 29 points.
The Beavers had three top five finishers as Charlotte Wentworth (Sidney, Maine), Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine), and Eve Poteet (Fairhill, Maryland) finished with times of 24:04.1, 24:04.3, and 24:59.4 respectively.
Angie Tehuitzil (Northglenn, Colo.) grabbed a ninth place finish for the Beavers with a time of 26:07.4. Sarah Chapin (Readfield, Maine), Emily Eaton (Hampton, NH), and Jessica MacDonald (New Gloucester, Maine) finished 13th thru 15th. Chapin ran a 27:38.5, Eaton a 27:44.9, and Jessica MacDonald (29.11.5)
Thomas's Maria Protheroe (South Thomaston, Maine) took first place with a time of 22:49.6.
