RUMFORD, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington wrapped up their first weekend events of the season on Sunday afternoon with slalom at Black Mountain. The Beavers took home 2nd place for the 2nd time on the weekend. The Beavers' three-skier time of 4:45.27 was narrowly beaten out by Saint Joseph's College of Maine's 4:44.02 time.
Simon Spear (Boothbay, Maine) topped the podium this afternoon with a two-run time of 1:30.75 to beat out Jack Price of Saint Joe's by a little over a second.
As a team, the Beavers were in 1st place after the first run, but were unable to hold the lead after the 2nd run. Jacob Roy (Frenchville, Maine) sat in 1st place after a marvelous first run, finishing in 43.87 seconds. Roy unfortunately would not finish his 2nd run and wouldn't contribute to the Beavers team score.
Colgan O'Keefe (Westchester, N.Y.) finished the day in 5th place overall and was the 2nd of the three-skier time for the Beavers with a two-run time of 1:35.09.
Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine) was the 3rd Beaver to contribute to their team time finishing in 7th place overall. Dolan finished the slalom course in 1:39.43.
Harley Scott of Bowdoin College finished the course with a two-run time of 1:32.81 to take 3rd place individually.

Next Friday evening the Beavers will compete in a Reynolds Division Night slalom at Lost Valley in Auburn.
